Services Offered at Arapahoe House

Outpatient Treatment: There are 6 outpatient clinics offered that provide substance abuse and co-occurring mental health services. Day treatment and school based services are adapted to meet the needs of their clients individually. Their services include assessments, referrals, individual, group, and family therapy.

Residential treatment consists of comprehensive 24 hour inpatient care. The specialized programs included in residential treatment include adult, youth, pregnant and postpartum women, offenders, and transitional services. Intensive residential treatment is designed for clients in need of a more restrictive form of drug and alcohol treatment and the length of stay is flexible. Treatment for the client is based on stabilization and preparation for ongoing treatment in a lower level of care like Day Treatment or Outpatient services.

DUI education and therapy in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language for drug or alcohol related driving citations are offered at Arapahoe House. Arapahoe House in Colorado has six outpatient clinics located throughout the metro Denver area making DUI education accessible and convenient.

Detox consists of a non-hospital, social setting service for adults that facilitates safe withdrawal from alcohol or drugs and engages appropriate clients in further treatment. There are 3 adult social model detox programs that Arapahoe House operates and their main goal is to monitor their clients as they safely withdrawal from alcohol and drugs.

During detoxification the clients are motivated to seek further treatment that’s appropriate for the individual client. Detoxification can last from 12 hours to 3 days depending on the individual, when their withdrawal symptoms are over and their blood alcohol level is at .000 the detox process is completed.

Co-occurring Disorder

When a person suffers from a mental health issue at the same time they’re suffering from a substance use disorder this is call co-occurring. It’s extremely important to get help for the co-occurring disorder at the same time they’re getting treatment for substance use. It’s very common for people suffering from addiction to also have co-occurring disorders. 32% of the individuals treated for substance use disorders in Colorado have a co-occurring disorder too. In order for treatment to be successful, both substance use problems and mental health issues need to be treated at the same time.

Mental health issues that are common co-occurring disorders include anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Inpatient Behavioral Health

Johnson Memorial Medical Center in Connecticut provides acute inpatient treatment for many behavioral health issues. The inpatient treatment is provided at South II which is a secure unit within the hospital. South II provides the following for adults:

The All Faith Counseling Center is a non for profit organization that provides counseling and educational services for individuals, couples and families in need of mental care. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed at All Faith Counseling Center and no one is turned away because they can’t pay for services. In 1983 a Benedictine Sister named Janelle Maes and a local Pastor, John Muncy founded Atchison Samaritan Counseling Center and in 1988 the center’s name was changed to All Faith Counseling Center. People of all faiths are welcome, their door are open to anyone seeking help and guidance.

Counseling is provided for individuals, couples, families, or other groups of people by licensed professionals. Their counselors help with setting goals along with the knowledge and skills that it takes to reach these goals.

Mental Health Therapy is also offered at All Faith Counseling Center in Kansas. Licensed clinical social workers help individuals learn to cope if they have been diagnosed with medical conditions that affect their mood and they’re physician has prescribed medications to treat their illness. Medications aren’t prescribed by the therapist but they help their clients understand their illness, manage their symptoms, and help to develop coping skills to improve their client’s quality of life. All Faith’s Anger Management Program is for individuals who often lose control of their emotions. If you get angered easily, lose your temper quite often or become physically violent towards others their Anger Management licensed Specialists can help. With a combination of counseling, education and life skills All Faith’s specialists can help you gain control of your emotions and live a calm peaceful life.

Project Launch is a program designed for 8th through 12th grade students as a way of educating their youth about the serious risks and dangers associated with alcohol and drug use. This program also educates these young people about the risks involved with premature sexual activity. Establishing goals and completing their education is important for young people. Project Launch helps to educate these students on the importance of staying in school and completing their education in order to achieve their goals.

All Faith Counseling Center turns no one away when they’re in need of mental care. They have a sliding fee scale for people who are uninsured or under-insured in order to provide the services needed by their clients. Their wonderful mission is to promote healing and restore health with their mental health counseling and educational services regardless of the ability to pay. This wonderful Counseling Center relies on donations because many people are unable to pay for their services. Most insurance companies don’t pay in full for counseling services if they even pay at all.
